HOLY LAND TOUR February 10-21, 2009
Start planning now for this trip of a lifetime. Here are some highlights:
* See stories of the Bible unfold as you walk as a pilgrim along the paths of Christ and the early church with a Christian guide
* Travel to Caesarea Maritima, once the Roman capital of Palestine, and see the remarkable Roman aqueduct
* Visit Nazareth, where Jesus grew up
* Take a cable car ride up to Masada and learn of the Zealots’ last resistance against the Romans, and visit the Dead Sea
* Visit the Church of the Nativity and Manger Square in Bethlehem
* Talk with The Rev. Dr. Mitri Raheb in Bethlehem about the role of Christians in the Palestine/Israel conflict
* Walk the Palm Sunday Road and the Via Dolorosa in Jerusalem
* Visit Yad Vashem, the Israeli Holocaust Museum
* Visit Augusta Victoria Hospital in Jerusalem, the only West Bank area hospital serving Palestinians and partially funded by ELCA Global Mission and Lutheran World Relief, and meet with the Rev. Mark Brown
Cost is $3600. Please contact Pastor Kris Gorden for a brochure or more information, 235-6603, or kgorden@olivet.org

LENDING CLOSET
Our Lending Closet began with Olivet members donating medical equipment and supplies to us. The idea is to "lend out" these items to our parishioners for temporary needs. The "closet" has wheelchairs, crutches, walkers, a commode, and even a high chair. If you or someone you know needs one of these items, please call the church office (235-6603). If you have any items you would like to donate, contact Bev Gravdahl.
